The purpose of the Student Council is to offer the students of St. Alphonsus the opportunity to organize student activities, develop school spirit, and represent student interests to the administration.  Students in grades Five through Eight may participate.  Officers are elected from Seventh and Eighth Grades and representatives are elected from grades Five through Eight  The Student Council sponsors social activities such as the middle school dance, as well as various projects and outreach to the community.

Student Council is currently in the process of working with the National Honor Society to raise money to make the courtyard between the buildings prettier.  They will fix the flower bed to actually grow flowers, place picnic tables in the courtyard  to use for outdoor classes, and in general, clean up the area. Student Council will have a dress down day, and an ice cream sale to raise money for the courtyard.
