It is with great pride that we announce that four of our 8th graders have qualified for exceptional programs going into high school. Two of the students have qualified for the Father Louis Querbes Scholars Program at Saint Viator High School. Brenna Drabik and Keely McClellan are the young ladies that have reached this very prestigious level. Destiny Marchetti and Keya Soni have been accepted into the AVID program as they journey into Wheeling High School.

Querbes Scholars are students of exceptional academic promise and are highly motivated. To qualify, they need to be in the top 7 percent nationally on the Saint Viator Entrance Exam, maintain a minimum of 97% GPA to remain in the program, and take 3-4 honors classes each year among other things.

The AVID program at Wheeling High School's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. These young ladies will be taking high school classes that will be accepted as college credits.

Saint Alphonsus Liguori has 12 graduates this year and to have 4 of them, (33%) of them, to reach these goals is exceptional. As a community, we are so very proud of them. WAY TO GO, GIRLS!!! #chargeon #catholicschool #stalchargers
