Spanish classes are offered to students in first through eighth grade two times per week. The goals of the Spanish program are 1) to facilitate students' development of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, 2) to expose them to Spanish-speaking cultures , 3) to provide opportunities for students to use Spanish beyond the classroom, and 4) to prepare them for high school Spanish. Middle school students utilize written guides, audio activities, video, music, and online apps to increase their vocabulary, and to develop proficiency in grammar, conversation, writing, listening and presentation skills.
Students in preschool and kindergarten have Spanish class once per week. Students learn through games, songs, and age appropriate writing practice. Culture and holidays are emphasized.
