RELIGION: We will be using Sadlier's We Believe text.  Kindergarteners focus on God as our Creator, the birth, life, and death of Jesus, living as God's children, and special days and events.  Each Friday, the kindergarteners attend the weekly 8:15 Mass with their fifth grade “buddies”.

MATH: We will be using the Saxon program.  During the year, the children participate in a wide variety of activities through hands-on experience, exploration, and discussion. Concepts and skills include: counting by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's, acting out stories, patterning, covering and reproducing designs, telling time to the hour, counting coins, measuring, graphing, estimating, and finding answers for addition and subtraction stories.

LANGUAGE ARTS: We will be using the Rowland Reading Foundation Superkids program.  It  focuses on phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, handwriting, and spelling.  Lessons are provided in a spiraling sequence.  Known skills are reviewed and reinforced as new skills are introduced.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Social studies topics are incorporated into themes. Some of the themes that are covered are: families, fire safety, explorers, famous Americans, community helpers, and holidays.

SCIENCE: Science will be taught through mini-units.  Some of the topics that will be covered through discussion and hands-on activities include: animals, the five senses, seasons, matter, and plants.

Spanish Curriculum:  Students in preschool through 4th grade have Spanish class once per week.  Students learn through games, songs, and age appropriate writing practice.  Culture and holidays are emphasized.
